A little hotter this weekend than what we have seen the past two days. Temperatures on Saturday will climb into the low 90s and we can expect the same on Sunday. It will be humid and a bit breezy at times with south winds to 20 mph.
The upper level setup shows an area of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere trying to nudge into Texas from northern Mexico. This high is not terribly strong. There is also a strong upper level disturbance that is coming out of the Rockies. This will kick off storm chances each afternoon/evening just to the north and west of North Texas.
In this stormy area shown above there will be the risk of severe weather on Saturday and on Sunday.
SATURDAY’S SEVERE WEATHER THREAT AREA
SUNDAY’S SEVERE WEATHER THREAT AREA
I will put a small chance of an isolated thunderstorm in the forecast for Saturday afternoon/evening in DFW at 10%. On Sunday there may be a few isolated thunderstorms along the Red River in the evening, but much of the weekend will be dry in DFW.
