It’s the first full day of astronomical summer and rain chances are around the first half of the day. At least the better rain chances. The afternoon heating might trigger a few storms but that activity will likely be east of the metroplex.
Yesterday the cloud cover kept us in the 80’s; the coolest day we’ve enjoyed in over a week. Today I expected some afternoon sunshine to push us to around 90° for a high. It’ll be muggy again but it’s June after all.
With all this moisture in place all we really need is the slightest lifting mechanism to get some storms/rain going.Yesterday you could make out a series of upper-air disturbances moving in from the west:
A couple of them arrive over the next 48 hours. We’ll get one overnight into Monday morning and another on Tuesday. These look to produce the best rain chances for the week:

Rain chances stay in the forecast all the way to next weekend. It’ll be in the low 90’s thanks to all the cloud cover. The – models show some serious heat for the first week of July, highs will get close to 100°.
