DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Law enforcement officials in Dallas are asking for help finding a suspect who is said to have sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl on her way home from summer school. The incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. on Monday, as the victim had just stepped off of her school bus.
Police said that the girl was walking alone in the 5900 block of Wisdom Creek Drive, close to Hyman Elementary School in the southwest part of the city. The victim told authorities that a man forced her into a truck, drove a short distance away and sexually assaulted her at knifepoint. That man then forced the girl out of the truck and just drove away.
The truck has been described as an older black four-door with rust on the hood and the passenger side. The interior upholstery is grey and dirty, and there was a lot of trash inside of the vehicle. Authorities believe that someone might be familiar with this truck, particularly since it has such distinctive markings.
The suspect, meanwhile, has been described as a 30-year-old black male with a full beard and low-cut black hair. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin, muscular build. He was wearing a black shirt with dirty blue jeans at the time of the alleged attack. The jeans had grass stains on the knees and a “white paint smear look” on the front thighs.
Police said that no other similar crimes have been reported in the area, but they hope to keep something like this from happening again. Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Dallas Police Department.
