The weekly drought update came out this morning and it does show some improvement in the drought conditions over parts of North Texas. It’s important to note that the end time for the data that goes into the weekly drought update is Tuesday morning at 7am. This means that all the rain we had in our area on both Tuesday and Wednesday is not considered for this week’s drought update, but it will be included for next week’s data.

There was quite a bit of improvement in the Granbury area, where some locations nearby picked up 6 to 8″ of rain on Sunday. However, notice that even with all of that rain, that part of North Texas is still in Severe Drought. Just a sign that the long term drought still has a ways to go before it’s beaten back.
