Dallas (CBSDFW.COM) It might not be the best defense, but bags of potato chips worked for an ice cream vendor for whom a couple of teenagers were trying to rob.

Dallas Police say two young men approached the vendor who was pushing his car outisde the Spanish Village Apartments off Webb Chapel Extension earlier this month.

One of them told the man, “You owe me $10.”  When the ice cream vendor said he didn’t owe him anything, the two teens started throwing large rocks at him, according to police.

The vendor fought back by throwing bags of potato chips at the suspects who then ran into the apartment complex.

A witness gave police a description of the pair and a couple of days later both suspects were arrested.
