FORT WORTH (CBS 11 NEWS) – At $5.5 million, you can get it all. The Chateau on Montserrat is just that kind of house.
John Zimmerman of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s Realty gave CBS 11 a tour of this luxurious French inspired estate. “It encompasses all the very best things of a truly luxurious estate,” he said.
The moment you enter, every door and window appear to draw you to the views outside. A centuries old antique fountain defines the courtyard off the grand entry foyer. The vines of an ivy plant fill the stone walls.
“Everything is carefully placed here for an ambiance of an old world mansion,” says Zimmerman.
The heart of the home is the kitchen . Dubbed the “gathering room” – this kitchen is truly a chefs kitchen with all the modern amenities. But with no walls separating the space. The house become part of the extended kitchen.
Zimmerman said, “This is where you prepare meals, this is where you come together and this is where you gather as a family.”
More than 11,000 square feet of space has 5 bedrooms and 6 baths including the media room and other areas. The master suite is particularly modern while still emanating the old country charm. Zimmerman points to a unique device that drops down the TV from the ceiling. “You just press a button and your television comes on and your drapes close.”
In the master bath – along with a soaking tub and a huge walk- in closet – It also has a unique privacy feature. The bathroom windows looking out to the view don’t have shades but, with a flick of a switch the clear glass turns opaque.
The media room is a full blown theater – that looks just like a movie theater. It has a popcorn machine, movie posters and a state of the art media room.
The outdoors is designed and decorated as a luxurious European vacation spot. “There are a number of spots where you can comfortably live, relax and with a view of downtown but you feel like you’re away from everything.”
The covered cabana, fire pit and the infinity edge pool are all surrounded by gorgeous panoramic views of Fort Worth.
And that’s Living Large.
