DALLAS, Texas (105.3 The Fan) – You see it happen year after year right as the NCAA football season begins. -The small, under-appreciated and most often unknown university teams offer up their puny hides to the seething and salivating major university industrial football programs – only to be chewed up and spit upon the sacrificial alter of the college football gods.
You know who they are.
They appear year after year in the number one, two or even homecoming spot on the the schedule.
They are the teams who you inevitably have to ask your friends about, not every friend just that one guy who knows every obscure campus full of hippies, liberals and fratboys. They never are in a city you can remember or even pronounce.
But these small school depend on these games. Not for the sport of it…but of the payday!
Smaller schools get a nice split of the sale of public tickets to see the lambs led before the hungry lions, and if the AD was slick enough to negotiate, a small cut of the broadcast revenue that is heaped on the big boys.
No matter if it’s money or for the love of the game, these teams are affectionately known as the ‘cupcake.’
Here are some of the best NCAA cupcake blowouts:
1. Florida A&M vs The Ohio State University
After this blowout victory over the outmanned and overmatched Florida A&M, Urban Meyer couldn’t say for certain that his Ohio State team got a lot out of its meek nonconference schedule.

2. Baylor University vs LA Monroe
The 20th-ranked Bears mauled the small northeast Louisiana school with 10 touchdowns and two on interception returns in a gigantic victory over Louisiana-Monroe.
FINAL: Baylor 70 ULM 7
3. University of Louisville vs Florida International
It was the highest-scoring game for the Cardinals since a 73-10 victory over Murray State in 2007.
Teddy Bridgewater threw four touchdown passes and Louisville’s defense allowed a school-record 30 yards during a 72-0 wipeout.
They matched the school’s fifth-largest margin of victory while recording their first shutout since a 26-0 win over Connecticut in 2010.

4. University of Miami vs Savannah State
Miami set a school record for points even after losing quarterback Stephen Morris in the opening quarter of the game.
Dallas Crawford and Gus Edwards both scored three touchdowns and Miami got into the end zone on its first seven possessions, rolling to a massive victory over Savannah State.

5. Florida State University vs Bethune-Cookman
Quarterback Jameis Winston completed 10 of 19 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns, Devonta Freeman ran for 112 yards and a touchdown to lead the No. 8 Seminoles to a 54-6 win over Bethune-Cookman!
