TARRANT COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) – In a move to help alleviate some of the major traffic issues caused by the weather Friday, a select group of tollways in North Texas are suspending tolls to keep traffic moving.
Robert Hinkle with the North Tarrant Express, says they are suspending tolls – for Friday only – during this weather event.
“All the lanes are open and operations and maintenance crews are doing everything they can to make sure that the roads stay open” said Hinkle.
The LBJ Express is also offering a free ride right now, and the toll lanes at 635 and I-35 are showing a price of zero.
According to an LBJ Express spokesperson – this is not a mistake.
The tolling authority is trying to help with giving people options and keeping the roads as clear as possible.
Most NTTA roads in Dallas and Collin Counties are not taking part in this gracious act. You can expect to pay the posted price on the Dallas North Tollway, Pres. George Bush Turnpike (Hwy 190) and Sam Rayburn Tollway (Hwy 121).
