KRLD — You can beat the heat this weekend, or embrace it! KRLD’s Tasha Stevens has some indoor — and outdoor — ideas to get your weekend started in North Texas!

— I hope you are hungry, because DFW Restaurant Week First Course Kick Off Party at Sixty Five Hundred is happening Thursday evening! Join in the foodie frenzy and support the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope with an exclusive “first taste” of delicious food and craft cocktails from local restaurants at one of Big D’s most chic entertainment venues, Sixty Five Hundred.

— When the temps turn up in Texas, so does the fun at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. So get out of the heat (and away from the tax-free mob) and into the Perot Museum of Nature and Science! First Thursday Late Night and Discovery Days are free for members and included in the cost of general admission for non-members.

— I loved this guy’s impersonations of Sammy Davis Jr, Michael Jackson and MC Hammer on “In Living Color” back in the day. See Comedian Tommy Davidson at the Arlington Improv Thursday night through Sunday.

— Two legends of country music are playing Thursday night. See Kenny Rogers and Wynona at Choctaw Casino Grand Theater. Then head back to Choctaw this Saturday for some great classic rock with Three Dog Night and Nazareth.

 

— This lady had a radio show for a really long time before making the move to TV. Check out Wendy Williams at Verizon Friday night.

— There are so many concerts happening this weekend. I guess since it is so hot, everyone just wants to stay inside. See Deep Purple, Sunday at Verizon Theater.

— Steve Summers/Voice of Pretty Boy Floyd, is playing Saturday night at Gas Monkey Bar and Grill.

— Michael Sweet/ The Voice of Stryper, is playing Sunday at Trees.

— Here are some chances to combine your movie watching with your music. The Kids Are Alright (The Who Film) is happening Thursday night at the Granada. Also Thursday night at the Granada, The Song Remains the Same (Led Zeppelin Film).

A New Wave Rave Tribute Fest is set at Southside Ballroom Saturday night. Strangelove (Depeche Mode Tribute), The Cured (The Cure Tribute), Idolized (Billy Idol Tribute), & Planet Earth (Duran Duran Tribute) will be doing their thing.

— For those who don’t mind being out in the heat, see the 5 Seconds of Summer: Rock Out with your Socks Out Tour on Friday at Gexa.

— Keeping with the country theme, Shania Twain is playing the AAC on Monday.
