ARYLE (CBSDFW.COM) – An Argyl woman who dedicated her life to helping others says she’s the one who needs help now after a construction company left her with thousands of dollars in damage.
“Stressed. Big time, over having to go to this point,” said Wanda Dodd.
Dodd has lived in her home for nearly 30 years, where she’s dedicated her life to fostering children.
“It’s been my life”, Dodd said. “Taking care of kids. I’ve always taken care of kids.”
Even now, at 71, she has two, adopted, teenage twins.
You can find their pictures and art work all over the house, including a “Danger” sign posted on the shower door of the upstairs bathroom.
“They put up these signs for me… ‘Do not shower, don’t use’,” Dodd said about the signs.
Dodd said she had a new bathroom installed two years ago. Three months after the work was complete a leak started dripping water into the downstairs bathroom. Even now, it drips through the light fixtures.
Dodd showed CBS 11 the holes that workers cut in the dry wall looking for the source of the leak. The construction company she blamed for the shoddy work promised to meet with Dodd on Friday to finish the work once and for all.
“I just hope it gets fixed, and we can enjoy this house,” Dodd said.
