FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A woman was shot four times by a man who demanded her purse while she was leaving work.

It happened Wednesday night at 10 p.m. in the 3600 block of Vaughn Blvd.

A witness shot the suspect as he was fleeing the scene.

The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and will need surgery.

Police described the suspect as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, 5’6” with a skinny build. He was wearing jeans without a t-shirt and has braided hair.
