Puppy Survives Several-Mile Trip In Vehicle Engine Compartment

HALTOM CITY (CBSDFW.COM) – Here’s a ‘warm and fuzzy’ story in more ways than one.

According to officials, at around 10:00 a.m. Friday, the Haltom City Fire Department was dispatched to CMR Construction and Roofing. the person was calling to ask for help because a dog had somehow gotten stuck inside the engine compartment of a vehicle.

Witnesses at the scene believe the dog rode several miles, wedged behind the air cleaner, from the Park Glen neighborhood in Fort Worth (Basswood and 377), to Central High School, and then finally to Haltom City.

Fire officials were alerted after the dog was heard crying under the hood of the parked vehicle.

Witnesses said the the fire crew showed up quickly and went right to work helping get the puppy to safety.
