AUSTIN (AP) – Texans planning to vote in next month’s general election are running out of time to register.
Today is the deadline to register to cast a ballot for the November 8 election.
Texas Secretary of State Carlos Cascos says early voting begins October 24 and runs through November 4.
Voters must be U.S. citizens and residents of the county where they plan to cast ballots.
Voters must present one of seven approved forms of photo identification in order to cast a ballot in person. The list includes a Texas driver’s license, a Texas election identification certificate issued by the Department of Public Safety, a personal identification card issued by DPS, a Texas license to carry a handgun, a U.S. military identification card, a U.S. citizenship certificate or a U.S. passport.
