DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Who doesn’t like flowers? More importantly – who doesn’t like free?

If a stranger offers you flowers tomorrow in downtown Dallas don’t shy away. It’s all part of a nationwide campaign featuring one local florist who simply wants to brighten up your week with a free bouquet.

Dr Delphinium Designs + Events has joined florists from 45 other states in a nationwide campaign created by national trade association to the floral industry – The Society of American Florists.

Inside Tip: Look for floral fairies at Klyde Warren Park and on Main Street, Commerce or Akard Street (Wednesday, Oct. 19) during the lunch hours.

The premise of its second annual ‘Petal It Forward’ campaign is pretty simple: spread happiness throughout the country.

And as if giving unsuspecting bystanders a beautiful bouquet out of the blue isn’t enough, the 20-year-old floral company will give 500 people two bouquets – one to keep and one to give.

According to a 2015 study by the Society of American Florists, 88 percent of Americans report that giving flowers makes them feel happy, while 80 percent reported that receiving flowers makes them feel happy.
