25-Year-Old American Airman Dies In Northern Syria

(CBSDFW.COM) – A 25-year-old Airman who was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve died Tuesday, March 28 in Northern Syria.

Staff Sgt. Austin Bieren of Umatilla, Oregon, died in a non-combat-related incident while deployed in support of combat operations, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

He was assigned to the 21st Space Wing at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.

The DOD didn’t release anymore details on the manner of Bieren’s death.
