ALEDO (CBS11 SPORTS) –  Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo fell short in his attempt to qualify for the U.S. Open.

The CBS Sports broadcaster shot a 3 over par at Spilt Rail Golf Course in Aledo during a local qualifier for the U.S. Open.

The top seven advanced.

Romo finished 40th.
