Dallas Bakery’s Wedding Cake Is Pure ‘Sooner Magic’

OKLAHOMA (CBSDFW.COM) – Integrating football with his wedding, one Sooners fan showed his loyalty to the team with fondant – lots and lots of fondant.

Frosted Art Bakery and Studio in Dallas created a tasty replica of the recently renovated Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman.

“I am a bit surprised at all the attention it got, we make stadiums all the time, but this one was just lucky. I guess people liked it, people like OU,” said Frosted Art Bakery and Studio Executive Chef, Bronwen Webber.

It took Webber and her team 160 hours to make the cake, which weighed more than 150 pounds.

“I like to think that it’s our best. We get better with each stadium goes on,” said pastry chef Ryan Coffey.

The highly-detailed groom’s cake was a dream come true for Samuel Cox and his new bride Caddie Proctor. The couple met at an OU game in 2013. Proctor is the granddaughter of former OU football coach Bobby Proctor.
