FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Police responded to the scene of a burglary reported Tuesday at a bank in far west Fort Worth. The call came just before 5:00 a.m. from the BBVA Compass Bank in the 8800 block of Camp Bowie West Boulevard, close to Las Vegas Trail.

According to Fort Worth police, three men were inside of the ATM room of the bank. The trio had a blowtorch and were trying to break into a safe.

When officers arrived they could hear “a banging noise” inside the bank. A SWAT team was later called to the scene, along with crews from MedStar as a precaution. Authorities eventually entered the bank, checked to make sure the building was safe. No suspects were found.

During the investigation, police closed off the portion of Camp Bowie West Boulevard directly in front of the bank.
