The City of Fort Worth was flooded with calls during recent bad weather asking if there is a public shelter during storms. The answer is no. There is no official public shelter. But there are plenty of public places to find safety if you’re caught out in a storm. The problem is, most people think the same as way as Paul Crockett, who works in downtown Fort Worth.

Strength Of OK Twister Upgraded, Search For Survivors Continues

Just after 3:00 p.m. (CST) officials with the National Weather Service upgraded the classification of the deadly tornado that struck in Moore, Oklahoma to an EF-5, the strongest storm rank on the enhanced Fujita scale.

NWS: Estimated 16 North Texas Tornadoes, Some EF-3 & EF-4

Officials with the National Weather Service (NWS) have determined the strength of several tornadoes that touched down across North Texas Wednesday night. As of Thursday afternoon NWS officials estimate that 12 tornadoes touched down.
