He’s been great friends with his co-host Jeff “Skin” Wade for 30+ years and the chemistry they’ve developed over the course of that long relationship is a huge part of the show’s appeal. Ben and Skin came up through the DFW media ranks due in large part to their Mavericks Postgame duties for KTCK, starting back in the 2002-03 season. As they gained more attention and opportunities , they eventually caught the ear of Program Director Gavin Spittle who hired them to host middays on Live 105.3 back in August of 2009. After a three year stint working mid-days on ESPNDallas they returned to the station that gave them their first full-time radio show in May of 2013.
Rogers is a knee-jerking, athlete-whispering, coach-killing nuclear overreactor who lives and dies with the teams he has grown up rooting for. Drawn offsides into a full sportspanic by the smallest of setbacks, and guilty of over-falling in love with prospects he’s only read one paragraph about, he seems to almost simultaneously represent all of the emotions that cause passionate fans to gravitate towards the world of sports.
Born and raised in Richardson, TX, Rogers has a diverse background that includes everything from fronting a hip hop group that went absolutely nowhere (The Coffee Nods) to logging nearly a decade in the television ad sales industry (in which he won the most prestigious individual award – the AWRT Award of Excellence for Best Account Executive).
A graduate of the University of North Texas with a BBA in Marketing, Rogers lives in North Dallas with his beautiful wife Kat and three sweet kiddos: Max, Miles and Grace. A homebody, he enjoys doing anything that involves his kids, including coaching their youth sports teams. He’s regarded in some circles as both the greatest fantasy football GM and wiffle ball power hitter of all time, although no one can seem to find those circles.
He plays a ridiculous amount of pick up basketball and thoroughly enjoys expensive cigars — a combination that will most certainly lead to a fun ambulance ride.
