For 20 years, Troy Hughes has lived and breathed radio.
At the age of 15, Troy started doing weekends at his hometown radio station, Texas 99.1 KNES.
While attending Texas A&M University, he served as the #1 rated night jock in Bryan-College Station on The Rock Station KTSR 92 under the name “Tommy Sledge.” In 1999, Troy made his way to Top 40 radio powerhouse, 106.1 KISS-FM, where he was named in a list of “Ones To Watch” by Billboard Magazine. After only 1 year, Troy was offered a job on the nationally syndicated show Kidd Kraddick In the Morning; serving as the program’s Imaging Director/On-Air Personality for the next 7 years and for their 70+ markets.
In 2007, Troy left KKITM to take a position with CBS Radio Dallas and in 2009 started working as a Producer for 105.3 THE FAN. Today, Troy is the Producer/On-Air Personality for New School with Shan and RJ and plays an active on-air role with various segments including “What’s Trending in DFW,” “Yo! Roger Raps!,” “Man Card Court” and “Houston Sucks.”
