Those aren’t nurses — those are CHEERLEADERS.

How about some journalistic integrity? Don’t label nurses as cheerleaders and vice versa. Nursing isn’t a glamor job, and it’s NOT entertainment. Those courageous men and women are there to SAVE lives.

Don’t paint them as entertainers or SEX symbols. Show them doing what they do best — fighting in the trenches to save lives in hospitals and clinics all over the world.

I’m thinking it’s cheerleaders employing the perception that Nurses are sexy to BE sexy by DRESSING as Nurses!

About tv anchor’s being knowlegeable,that’s not always true. And sexy the same.

That is a disgusting and degrading depiction of nurses, and you should be ashamed of yourselves for it. Besides, there are nurses who are far better looking than some cheerleaders AND they save lives for a living. Cheerleaders just jump up and down and smile. Anyone can do that.

Disclaimer: I’m a registered nurse. (this fact doesn’t make me prejudiced)

I’m sexy because: 1) a nurse in good standing must be licensed by the government is the state(s) in which he or she is practicing.Don’t get me wrong – cheerleaders may be brilliant but this requires brains and physicality of a different “animal”. One must be a professional in the field of their knowledge and process it constantly- it is NOT a pre-choreographed or staged scenario everyday you “perform”.
2) a nurse is confident (just as cheerleaders) but it is necessary to problem solve “on the fly” with any number of various behavioral patterns among their “clients”, family, MD’s, ancillary staff, CEOs, constantly changing trends in healthcare, to name a few challenges.

3) We have our dress codes. Al least we are getting to the point where we are allowed to individualize and share our own style.

4) …and in spite of PERCEPTIONS that nurses are handmaids or male servants, we know we get a lot of nice people or low-lifes out of deep *#%* when it comes to SOLVING problems.

5) We are able to be kind, calm, capable while accomplishing the aforementioned.

6) Some of us can actually DO what these cheerleaders are proud of doing, and rightly so, on both counts.

They should include Ballroom Dancers – they’re so sexy!

This picture of half naked women in hot pants and bikini tops is disgusting and offensive, and creates a negative image of the nursing profession. CBS, did you really think that the general public would find fake plastic breasts more sexy than intelligence, motivation, and a save-your-butt-not-kiss-it attitude?

This is what qualifies as journalism in America? For Pete’s sake, this is why the USA is in the shape it is in! That and half wits more worried about the “Super Bowl” and “March Madness” than foreign affairs, the education of their children, or protection of fundamental freedom!

I swear tabloid journalism and celebrity/sports idol worship will destroy this Great Nation! Furthermore, my wife is a nurse and found the cheerleader garbage degrading to the core of my conservative soul!

Junk, tripe, and nonsense! No wonder millions of Americans are turning to sites like Drudge to get actual news from sources untainted by the entertainment industry.

What in the living hell is sexy about a newscaster’s job?

Journalists? Knowledgeable? PLEASE!! These people just sit and read a politically biased teleprompter. They’re clueless about everything: the economy, race relations, crime, trade deficits, taxes, etc.
