Hurricane Irene Heads Toward U.S.
CARIBBEAN SEA - AUGUST 25: In this handout satellite image provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), shows Hurricane Irene on August 25, 2011 in the Caribbean Sea. Irene, now a Category 3 storm with winds of 115 miles per hour, is projected to become Category 4 storm as it moves toward the eastern seaboard of the U.S. The eye has disappeared from this NOAA GOES-East satellite image, however, the storm is not weakening as it seems that Irene is going through an eyewall replacement cycle.
