Two Dallas Independent School District sources told CBS 11 that their Communications Chief, Rebecca Rodriguez, resigned Monday.
According to officials with teacher association groups that represent the 10,000 Dallas ISD teachers, an estimated 1700 teachers have either tendered resignations, retirement notifications, or received contract non-renewal notification from the district.
The Dallas Independent School District has already announced an anticipated $38 million budget deficit for the 2012-13 school year –– but four cabinet members will see salaries that range from $182,000 to $220,000.
