With animal shelters filling up, the City of Fort Worth is taking an unusual step to keep homeless pets alive. As part of a new program, one woman has become the city’s first animal foster care home.
The Fort Worth Animal Shelter is at capacity. The city confirmed that on Monday 20 animals were euthanized – the highest number of animals put down so far this year.
A national non-profit spent $450,000 to build a pet adoption center at a North Dallas PetSmart,. The City of Dallas, in exchange, agreed to provide an estimated $350,000 a year. But the city has yet to come through with any money.
