New Jersey Governor Chris Christie signed a measure Wednesday that would allow the sale of Tesla and other zero-emission cars in the state, a legislative move that wasn’t successful here in Texas.
It seems North Texas has lost out. Tesla Motors has chosen Nevada as the site for a massive, $5 billion factory that will pump out batteries for a new generation of electric cars.
Governor Rick Perry’s office says it continues to negotiate with Tesla Motors to build an electric car battery factory in Texas, despite Tesla’s announcement Thursday that it has broken ground on a Nevada site.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality says it “cannot approve” Exide Technologies’ assessment report for the former Frisco battery recycling plant.
