Formerly conjoined twins celebrate their first birthday with a party Medical City Children’s Hospital.
For the first time in their young lives a set of 9-month-old twins left a Dallas hospital. Brothers Emmett and Owen Ezell have had a tough road since birth. They were born conjoined, but left the hospital as separate little boys.
The 9-month-old boys born joined at the abdomen were released Wednesday morning from Medical City Children’s Hospital.
The conditions of conjoined twins separated last summer have steadily improved and officials say they’ll be released this week from a Dallas hospital.
“I have two babies… two separate babies!” exclaimed mother Jenni Ezell—with both joy and tears filling her eyes. The emphasis, appropriately enough, is on ‘separate’.
Officials at Medical City Children’s Hospital say Owen and Emmett Ezell are in stable condition. Their parents planned to offer an update later Thursday.
