College football fans — and ESPN — will descend on North Texas this weekend as the Cowboys Classic kicks off at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Saturday evening.
The last time Alabama and USC met in the regular season was 1978, when the Crimson Tide were the AP national champions and the Trojans finished No. 1 in the UPI poll.
Florida and Michigan will open the 2017 season in the Cowboys Classic in Arlington, Texas. The prime-time game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 2.
The school announced Tuesday that it has sold nearly 25,000 tickets to the game against the national champions on Sept. 1 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.
