A chandelier by glass artist Dale Chihuly that once belonged to Texas tycoon R. Allen Stanford is to be sold at auction to raise money to help compensate victims of his Ponzi scheme.
The Chihuly exhibition has been extended through December 31 as a gift to the City of Dallas from the Arboretum Board of Directors. It was initially set to close on November 5.
The Grammy Award winning sound of Asleep at the Wheel could be heard Tuesday night at the Dallas Arboretum’s Concerts in the Garden, alongside the Chihuly Nights exhibit.
DFW offers a wide range of places to enjoy glass art, from the exquisite glass architecture at The Modern in Fort Worth to the numerous art galleries and exhibits in the area.
When the sun rose on Thursday, it further illuminated the busted windshields, deeply dented hoods, shattered home windows and obliterated tile roofs that remained long after Wednesday night’s hail turned to water.
World renowned artist Dale Chihuly has installed his latest artwork in the gardens to be enjoyed both during the day and evening hours.
The works of glass blower Dale Chihuly will be on display starting Saturday at the Dallas Arboretum, giving North Texans one more reason to visit the garden this summer.
