Fathers, Firefighters: Lives Lost In West, Texas

On April 17, an explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas, leveled part of the small town. Most of the victims were first responders from fire departments in West and other nearby towns that were on the scene trying to control the fire that preceded the blast.

TxDOT Signs To Regularly Display Traffic Death Numbers

The Texas Department of Transportation is hoping that a sobering new message on highway digital message boards will help save lives in the state. The advisory flashing on the boards lets drivers know that 1,785 people have died on Texas roads this year.
