The youthful fascination for child visitors to the Fort Worth zoo was enhanced this week when zoo officials added a child’s inflatable pool to the elephants’ enclosure. Baby elephant Belle is taking full advantage of her new pool; cooling off and entertaining zoo guests.
An elephant born at the Fort Worth Zoo has been named Belle. Zoo spokeswoman Alexis Wilson said that the name was an overwhelming favorite after a public vote.
The newest member of the Fort Worth Zoo is also the youngest and, these days, the most popular.
The bubble gum cigars proclaim, “It’s a girl”. A new “bundle of joy” made her first appearance today at the Fort Worth Zoo. The Asian elephant calf walked out along with its mother, 40-year-old Rasha, as zoo visitors watched.
