Dale Earnhardt Jr. has more than the Sprint Cup series on his mind these days — like trying to win a Nationwide title as an owner of JR Motorsports with drivers Chase Elliott and Regan Smith.
Danica Patrick will have a new crew chief after Monday’s departure of Tony Eury Jr. from JR Motorsports.
Eury has been with JR Motorsports since 2007. He’s won 55 races in the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series in a career that has spanned 28 years.
After months of skirting speculation, Patrick announced Thursday that she’s leaving IndyCar in 2012 to run a full Nationwide schedule with JR Motorsports and up to 10 Sprint Cup races for Stewart-Haas Racing.
