Eric Williams, once the school kid considered most likely to succeed in life, will now die by lethal injection for being a cold-blooded killer.
A former justice of the peace accused of killing a North Texas district attorney and his wife had a “treasure trove” of evidence in a storage shed, prosecutors said during opening statements Monday.
Authorities investigating the murders of a Texas prosecutor and his wife believe a former county official sent a threatening email to law officers three days after the killings.
According to the e-mail, McLelland’s family chose to end their relationship with him “in light of the past few days of press releases without us looking at them before they were released for publication.”
Unnerved, but poised, Brandi Fernandez spoke lovingly about her former boss, Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia just days after they were murdered.
Fernandez says, “He and Cynthia were the mom and dad of the office. I still kind of expect him to walk through with a plate of cookies that she cooked us.”
