Several Dallas Zoo visitors were trapped on the Zoo’s monorail system Wednesday afternoon, according to a spokesperson for Dallas Fire-Rescue.
The Dallas Zoo said Monday it plans to revamp or replace its iconic monorail ride after a mechanical failure left passengers stranded for the second time in as many years.
For 100 people at the Dallas Zoo, a Saturday afternoon ride along the monorail was the way they had to end their day of watching lions, tigers and bears.
Fire fighters were called to rescue patrons stranded on the monorail at the Dallas Zoo’s Wilds of Africa exhibit after the system malfunctioned and shut down just before 4 p.m. Tuesday.
