It was a busy day at Bowie Drive Animal Hospital in Weatherford. It was a reunion of sorts and everyone from the Parker County Sheriff to animal control was there to see special Hope.

Tortured Dog, Hope, Finds A New Home

Three days ago, a female pug-mix was found wandering a ranch property in blistering heat with an engorged tongue, swollen because it had been pulled out and clinched between its jaws. Its snout was secured shut with packing tape. But on Friday, Parker County authorities send word: Hope has a new home.

Veterinarians say the dog that was tortured and abandoned in Parker County is well on the way to recovery and garnering support from such far-off places as London.

It was a big bust of underage drinkers in Parker County that began with an anonymous noise complaint. It happened July 5 and deputies say when they arrived at the house, near Aledo, they found dozens of beer-toting juveniles.

Weatherford Council Ushers In Invocation, Pledge Before Meetings

Weatherford’s City Council voted four to one Tuesday to bring an invocation back to City Council meetings. It also reinstated the Pledge of Allegiance to both the United States and Texas flags.
