Phoenix escaped with a 2-1 victory over Dallas, that solidified their shot for a second consecutive playoff appearance.
One shot is all the Stars figured they would get on a power play with 13 seconds left in regulation. It was all they needed.
Radim Vrbata’s power-play goal at 1:13 of overtime lifted the Coyotes to a 3-2 victory over the Stars on Wednesday night.
Kyle Turris scored in the second period, and the Coyotes hung on to beat the Dallas Stars 1-0 on Sunday night.
“Tonight, it wasn’t from a lack of effort and it wasn’t from a lack of staying with it,” said Stars head coach Marc Crawford. “I guess you need a little bit of puck luck.”
