A small neighborhood east of Fort Worth is hoping it will soon get some relief after years of busy railroad tracks causing long delays when trying to get in and out of the area.
When looking at North Texas traffic and congestion it’s not only area highways that need new lanes. One railroad is planning a major expansion in Tarrant County. But residents could be stuck footing part of the bill.
This week authorities “staked out” a North Texas railroad crossing and issued 20 citations in a 3-hour period. The crackdown on drivers ignoring the flashing red lights was a collaboration between police and Union Pacific Railroad.
Railroad construction has shut down four busy Arlington Railroad crossings including one on the city’s busiest street, Cooper.
