Officials: Possum Kingdom Fire 60-Percent Contained

The wildfires burning near Possum Kingdom Lake are now 60-percent contained. Officials have lifted evacuation orders for Gaines Bend and Sportsman’s World.

Red Cross Now Heading To Possum Kingdom Fire

People who have lost their homes along Possum Kingdom Lake will soon be getting help from the American Red Cross. Thursday’s mission into Palo Pinto County will be the first since the fires and there’s a very specific reason why.

Wildfire Burns Hundreds Of Acres In Palo Pinto County

A wildfire has burned nearly 1,000 acres in Palo Pinto County. Tuesday afternoon there were three helicopters, six fire engines, five bulldozers and a 20-person hand crew battling the fire.

12 Homes Destroyed In Fires Near Amarillo

Two wildfires have destroyed at least 12 homes on the outskirts of the Panhandle city of Amarillo, Texas Forest Service officials said Monday.

The Texas Forest Service on Friday reported that wildfires in the Possum Kingdom Lake area were 100 percent contained.
