A massive clean up effort is underway in Moore, Oklahoma, after a tornado left a path of destruction Wednesday night.
The small Arkansas town of Vilonia was hit hard by the tornado on Sunday. Three years ago this same week, a twister devastated Vilonia, killing four people.
The Oklahoma state medical examiner’s office says at least 24 people were killed in Monday’s massive Oklahoma tornado. The death toll is expected to rise.
Devastating tornadoes hit Alabama and Missouri last year, making for the deadliest tornado season in 70 years. But both of those states are outside of the traditional Tornado Alley.
The new tornado and thunderstorm warning systems being tested in the Great Plains could also be tried out here in North Texas.
It has been confirmed that at least one North Texan is among those killed in the storms and tornadoes that swept through Tuscaloosa, Alabama. University of Alabama student Ashley Harrison was killed.
