Passengers in Arlington on Monday morning will have a brand new way to travel. The city rolled out its first-ever public transit service known as the Metro Arlington Express — or the MAX.
It’s a “birth” resulting from the “marriage” of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) and Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), and it means the first ever mass transportation service for the City of Arlington.
Arlington could get its first taste of mass transit later this year. DART voted to move ahead with plans for a commuter bus line, running between the University of Texas at Arlington and th TRE CentrePort Station.
Major changes could be coming to DART, as North Texas cities that never became part of the system could soon be getting service. This includes Arlington.
Today is the first business day that riders on Fort Worth “T” buses are digging deeper for their trips, while TRE riders are catching a break.
A system-wide computer and signals outage briefly halted TRE operations early Tuesday morning, but service is now returning to normal, the transit agency announced.
A transit official says a man walking on railroad tracks in Dallas has been struck and killed by a commuter train.
North Texas is getting a poor rating when it comes to mass transit effectiveness and its ability to connect workers and their jobs.
The Trinity Railway Express is closing a railroad crossing in northeast Fort Worth because people keep driving around the gates.
Police may have caught some of the people behind a rash of car break-ins across North Texas.
Police are looking for the thieves who broke into nearly 20 cars Thursday, in the broad daylight, in the parking lot of a Trinity Railway Express (TRE) station.
There’s talk of creating passenger train service to Alliance Airport in Fort Worth and then possibly on to other points north of the city.
