North Texas has received a respectable amount of rain this spring. While the water may have helped everyone’s yards look green and lush, it’s still not enough to recover from the drought.
“It kind of seems like a waste of water with the water restrictions. It doesn’t make any sense,” said Carol Birkett, a Collin County resident.
The North Texas Municipal Water District has voted to relax restrictions on residents in 13 area cities.
No landscape watering. No permits for new swimming pools. That could be the reality for thousands of North Texans in 2012.
