Funeral and viewing services are set for Sunday and Monday for the Dallas firefighter who fell to his death while assisting with a major car crash during an ice storm.
As CBS 11 News first reported, while firefighters were grieving the death of Scott Tanksley they were also getting hit by thieves. Some eight vehicles were targeted outside Fire Station 12. Now there’s been an arrest.

Had he never put on a firefighter’s uniform, Scott Tanksley would have still been a hero to in the small Texas towns of Kemp and Mabank in Kaufman County.
Tuesday night a Dallas firefighter was being remembered as a father, husband and man who died helping others. It was late Monday when William “Scott” Tanksley was working at the scene of a crash on the southbound Spur 408 exit-ramp.
At least four people have died in traffic accidents on icy North Texas roads including a Dallas firefighter who was knocked from an Interstate 20 ramp.
