“Hipster” has become a popular term that is often associated with craft beer and cocktails, artisanal foods and alternative music. DFW is a melting pot of all kinds of styles, especially in the food and drink world, including bars and restaurants that are perfect for those looking for a hipster feel. These are some of the best options in DFW for those looking for bars with a great atmosphere and hipster style.

Beauty Bar
1924 N. Henderson Ave.
Dallas, TX 75206
(214) 841-9600
www.facebook.com/beautybardallas

Beauty Bar in Dallas is a very unique spot. It is best known for its martini and manicure happy hour. Walking here, you will feel like you have stepped into the past. The decor is part 50s-style living room and part salon, making it the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail with friends while getting your nails done. The music played here isn’t your average style of party tunes, although it’s definitely something you can dance to, which is evidenced by the fact that Beauty Bar was voted one of the best dance clubs in Dallas in 2012.

The Amsterdam Bar
831 Exposition Ave.
Dallas, TX 75226
(214) 827-3433
www.facebook.com/amsterdam.dallas

The Amsterdam Bar is one of the best-kept secrets in Dallas, but that makes it perfect for the hipster crowd that is often found there. It’s a great place to listen to live jazz music, specifically on jazz nights. The patio is perfect for large groups when the weather is nice. Good craft beer is often associated with hipsters and this bar doesn’t disappoint as it has a vast beer selection.

Bar Belmont
SMOKE Restaurant
901 Fort Worth Ave.
Dallas, TX 75208
(214) 393-4141
www.smokerestaurant.com

Bar Belmont is part of SMOKE Restaurant, which is located at the Belmont Hotel in Dallas. A fancy hotel might not be the first place you would look for a hipster bar, but this is not your typical hotel bar. The handcrafted cocktails are great for drinking, especially on the patio space. Live music can often be heard in the bar as well. If you’re wondering what makes this bar so special other than the handmade and homegrown food and cocktails, check out on of its art openings or attend the tarot card readings.Related: Best Places To Grab A Microbrew In Dallas

Strangeways
2429 N. Fitzhugh Ave.
Dallas, TX 75204
(214) 823-7800
www.facebook.com/strangewaysdallas

Named after The Smiths’ studio album, Strangeways is the perfect hipster hangout. There is a great variety of craft beers on tap and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It may be hard to find, but it is definitely worth a look. The patio out front is a great place to relax, but if you head inside, you’ll be greeted with exposed brick walls and some of the best bar music in the area. That brick wall is also lined with what some may consider art – a collection of vinyl figurines. It’s a unique bar with a constantly changing craft beer list and good music. What more could a hipster need?

Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House
1154 Peavy Road
Dallas, TX 75218
(214) 324-3335

This bar is known as a neighborhood bar where everyone can just go and feel comfortable with people from the area and their friends. The burgers include grass-fed beef and the owners make sure that the beers that are offered are selected from some of the best craft breweries.
