Dallas seems to have an abundance of options when it comes to choosing a location to deliver your bundle of joy. For some families, they might be looking for a place that offers the most natural procedures with the least amount of medical intervention as possible, whereas some women might be more concerned with the comfort of the rooms and the culinary quality of their in-room food service. Hopefully this list of popular hospitals and birth centers in Dallas will help with your decision of where to deliver your baby.
Baylor University Medical Center
3500 Gaston Ave.
Dallas, TX 75246
Baylor University Medical Center in downtown Dallas is one of the most popular hospitals in Dallas. Staffed with excellent medical professionals and caring physicians, women seem to rave about the comfort and quality of care they receive at Baylor. Contrary to some hospitals, Baylor seems to be more accommodating for women wishing to go the undedicated route. Although this hospital would probably not be as supportive as a more naturally focused birth center, the staff seems to be pretty helpful in assisting women deliver their babies naturally. Of course, they also have all the bells and whistles for those choosing the medicated route.
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas
8200 Walnut Hill Lane
Dallas, TX 75231-4402
Another popular choice in Dallas is Presbyterian, known locally as “Presby.” This hospital located in North Dallas just off Central Expressway boasts hotel-like rooms, and even offers a choice of three different room types for women to enjoy while recovering from labor. Women love the modern remodels of their rooms and can choose from standard, suite, and deluxe suite. Right across from the hospital are several medical buildings, which house some of the most popular pediatricians in Dallas. Talk about convenient.
Medical City Dallas
7777 Forest Lane
Dallas, TX 75251
Medical City is the only facility in the area that offers neonatologists and pediatric anesthesiologists on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is reassuring should you need the care of a NICU for your new baby. This hospital is one the most prepared in Texas to treat high-risk pregnancies and deliveries without mothers having to worry about transferring their baby to a different location. They also have a fabulous nursing staff and really seek to make mom and baby as comfortable and healthy as possible. I am actually delivering my second baby here and am looking forward to my stay. My favorite part was the helpful lactation consultants. They are readily available and eager to help and encourage a healthy breastfeeding relationship.
Birth and Women’s Center
3100 Swiss Ave.
Dallas, TX 75204
The Birth and Women’s Center in Dallas is one of the top birthing centers for women to enjoy a natural and drug-free delivery. Conveniently located near Baylor Dallas, hospital care is just down the street in case of an emergency. Midwives here are very supportive of natural birth and close bonding experiences for mom and baby after delivery. You can have your baby, spend some time together, and go home shortly to get back to real life. No waking up to blood pressure checks and pill-popping all night here.
