There’s a lot of art to enjoy this fall with a lineup of festivals and fairs scheduled for October and November. From performances to exhibits, the Dallas Arts District will celebrate art throughout October, and collectors will have their fill with two great shows for art and antiques. Check out these upcoming events and feel the art in the air.

Throughout the month of October
Multiple venues in Dallas Arts District

Art in October is a month-long celebration of the Dallas Arts District. As the city presents a new season of performances, exhibitions and programs, the Arts District will host several events throughout October. Street performances, art activities, and many exciting experiences will spotlight different organizations of the Arts District. Organizations include the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, Meyerson Symphony Hall, and the AT&T Performing Arts Center and Winspear Opera House. This two-day show features the best in arts, crafts, antiques, collectibles, home décor and more. In this annual celebration of the migration of the Monarch butterfly, colorful butterflies will take over Grapevine with butterfly exhibits, interactive butterfly arts and crafts, and the must-see event—the live butterfly releases. There’s also a butterfly costume parade down Main Street so be sure to take your camera to visually document brightly colored wings, and kids (and pets) in costume.

Now in its fifth year, the Tour of Homes organized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Dallas, will highlight the best residential architecture in the Dallas areas, as designed by Texas architects. This self-guided tour will give participants the opportunity to see and learn more about the cutting-edge, modern design of many residential dwellings, and get a glimpse of the vast architecture talent in the area.
