A standing room only crowd didn’t appear to sway Dallas County Commissioners who are set to approve a budget next week that eliminates the traffic division in the constable’s office.

Some of the 80 deputies that would be fired showed up to address commissioners. Some deputies claimed they were on the chopping block in retaliation for blowing the whistle on corruption in the offices of some constables.  Commissioners will vote next Tuesday on budget that includes eliminating the traffic enforcement deputies and three employees in the District Attorney’s office.
