WEBSTER (AP) – Police say two reindeer hit the ground running near Houston after a trailer hauling them came loose, popped open and the animals jumped out.

Webster police received several phone calls Wednesday about the runaway reindeer, which are part of a petting zoo, dashing near Interstate 45.

Chief Ray Smiley dispatched officers to help catch the reindeer and safely guide traffic away from the animals.

The reindeer weren’t hurt.
