Neighbors reportedly went to Zimmerman’s home after becoming concerned about him. When they arrived, and couldn’t get inside the house, one neighbor looked through a window and saw Zimmerman lying on the living room floor.

After forcing their way in the house, Parker County Sheriff’s deputies found Zimmerman handcuffed behind his back, with duct tape around his head and feet and on top of the handcuffs.

Zimmerman was not in good medical condition, but was able to tell deputies that three white men, with shaved heads, had broken into the house.

After getting medical attention for the man, deputies reported that the house appeared to have been “ransacked” in what they believed was a robbery.

Both Hammons and Murrell have been charged with Injury to the Elderly and Aggravated Robbery.
