A crane collapsed at the University of Texas at Dallas campus in Richardson Saturday.

UPDATED AT 5:35 p.m:According to the university’s website the crane collapsed while it was being dismantled at the construction site of the Arts and Technology Building in the southeast side of campus. The university has advised nobody go near the site of the collapse.

RICHARDSON (CBSDFW.COM) – Two people are dead after a crane collapsed at the University of Texas at Dallas campus in Richardson Saturday.

Allen Palomda with the Richardson Fire Department says the crane collapsed onto a building. Firefighters were called to the scene around 3:20 p.m.

Palomda confirms two construction workers died as a result of the collapse.
