BEDFORD (CBSDFW.COM) – A traffic mess is coming for Bedford this weekend as the Brown Trail bridge over Airport Freeway will be demolished started Friday at noon.

The bridge is being torn down as part of the North Tarrant Express project, and will mean delays and reroutes for people using Airport Freeway and the frontage roads during the weekend.

Most of the delays will be limited to the overnight hours.  Brown Trail serves as the main north-south thoroughfare for L.D. Bell High School to the north and for shopping centers south of the highway.

Many detour signs will be in place, especially as crews shut down service roads between Bedford Road and Norwood Drive.
